En conférence de presse d’avant match ce jeudi 2O mars à la FECOFA, le sélectionneur national des léopards de la RDC s’est montré rassurant et optimiste. Il compte miser sur son attaque pour décrocher la victoire face à l’équipe adverse.

Pour cette 5ème journée qui se profile à l’horizon, 3ème du groupe B avec deux victoires, une défaite et un match nul, la RDC tente d’arracher une qualification pour la prochaine Coupe du Monde de football 2O26, une compétition dont sa dernière participation remonte aux années septante.

Le technicien Sébastien DESABRE a, par ailleurs, souligné la nécessité d’un équilibre entre les joueurs binationaux et ceux issus du terreau local qui repose sur une observation assidue et la réalité de la concurrence.

Par la même occasion, l’entraîneur de la RDC est revenu sur la performance remarquable de Cédric BAKAMBU, attaquant du Real Betis et absent dans la sélection nationale depuis les derniers rassemblements, malgré sa place de deuxième buteur de l’histoire des Léopards de la RDC avec 16 buts en 54 sélections.

Dans le camp adverse, l’entraîneur sud-soudanais, Nicolas Jean DUPUIS, a précisé que la chance de victoire est partagée entre les deux équipes censées s’affronter vendredi 21 mars en début de soirée au Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte à Kinshasa devant un public de 8O.OOO spectateurs.
